ZTE Co., Ltd., has reached a milestone by successfully completing the implementation of a DL Cat-18 device. Rohde & Schwarz was selected to verify the new ZTE 1.2Gbps Smartphone with a test setup based on a R&S CMW500 mobile communication tester. ZTE 1.2 Gbps Smartphone can support download speed up to 1.2 Gbps by using 3CC downlink carrier aggregation with 4×4 MIMO and 256QAM modulation. ZTE will exhibit it at the Mobile World Congress 2018 in Barcelona.
Barcelona, March 1, 2018 — ZTE 1.2 Gbps Smartphone supports the combination of up to 3CC downlink carriers on which carriers can be received separately on four transmission layers (4×4 MIMO) using a modulation of 256QAM. The R&S CMW500 mobile communication tester from Rohde & Schwarz has been used to verify the proper functionality of the mobile device.
The R&S CMW500 is the ultimate test platform for simulating and verifying the combination of signaling and end-to-end data transmission on the involved carriers, regardless of the 3GPP-defined band configuration to be tested. For testing LTE in unlicensed spectrum configurations, the downlink carriers could even be set up in the 5 GHz unlicensed spectrum. This is important for 3GPP features such as License Assisted Access (LAA). The R&S CMW500 in its R&S CMWflexx configuration is the first test platform that offers enhanced carrier aggregation (eCA) capabilities for up to 8CC including 4×4 MIMO, for protocol, RF and data performance verifications.
The test setup including ZTE 1.2 Gbps Smartphone and the R&S CMW500 wideband radio communication tester will be on display at MWC 2018 in Barcelona from February 26 to March 1, 2018, at the ZTE booth (hall 3 / booth 3F30).
