BANGALORE, India. – July 14, 2015 – Wind River®, a global leader in network virtualization software, has announced that Wind River Titanium Server has been validated as an NFV Infrastructure (NFVI) software running on Nokia’s recently-announced AirFrame Data Center Solution portfolio.

The AirFrame Data Center Solution leverages cloud technologies to deliver low latency and high throughput for virtual telecom network functions, combining centralized and distributed architectures for maximum efficiency and capabilities. With native support for the full range of Nokia Virtual Network Functions (VNFs), AirFrame enables flexible and innovative data centers to be deployed at strategic, optimum locations. Thanks to AirFrame, telecom service providers realize the full promise of Network Functions Virtualization (NFV), with use cases such as the relocation of radios from the field to data centers by using virtualized radio clouds, reducing operating expenses (OPEX) and accelerating the delivery of new services.

Wind River Titanium Server enables NFV platforms to deliver the carrier grade reliability required for telecom infrastructure. At the same time, it provides best-in-class Virtual Machine (VM) density for VNFs, maximizing the OPEX savings achieved by service providers.

“With Nokia AirFrame Data Center Solution, we’re continuing to advance the capability of commercially-deployed NFV and telco clouds,” said Henri Tervonen, vice president of architecture at Nokia Networks.

“We are delighted to have completed the validation of Titanium Server on Nokia’s AirFrame solution,” said Jim Douglas, senior vice president of product at Wind River. “Nokia Networks has been a valued Wind River customer for many years.”
