In this exclusive email interview, Satendra Singh, CEO of Syrma SGS Technology, and Manu P Dhagat, CEO of the company’s RFID Business, discuss Syrma SGS’s integrated “one-stop solution” approach across product design, manufacturing, and testing services. They highlight how this philosophy delivers speed, quality, and cost benefits to customers, while also expanding advanced manufacturing capabilities globally. The conversation also explores Syrma SGS’s RFID and IoT solutions, their growing adoption across industries, and strategic plans to strengthen the company’s global footprint in the evolving electronics landscape.
1. Could you provide more insight into your “one-stop solution” approach, from product design to automatic tester development services? How does this integrated approach benefit your customers?
Satendra Singh : At Syrma SGS, our ‘one-stop solution’ approach is rooted in the philosophy of delivering end-to-end value for our customers – starting right from product conceptualization to final deployment and support. This includes product design, prototyping, DFX (Design for Manufacturability/Testability), PCB assembly, full box build, and industrialization support like fixture development and customized tester development.
By providing these capabilities, we eliminate the need for customers to coordinate across multiple vendors. This ensures faster time-to-market, consistent quality, seamless integration, and better cost optimization.
This integrated model is especially valuable for complex electronic products likeindustrial controllers, smart meters, and automotive electronics – where design precision, testing accuracy, and manufacturing efficiency must go hand in hand. Ultimately, it allows our customers to scale with confidence, knowing they have a single trusted partner throughout their product lifecycle.
2. As a company with over 40 years of experience, how do you see Syrma SGS continuing to be a preferred value creator in electronics design and manufacturing?
Satendra Singh: What truly differentiates us is our partnership-driven approach. We are not just contract manufacturers, we are value creators who work together with our clients from concept to execution, ensuring faster time-to-market, design optimization, and supply chain agility.
Our investments in R&D, state-of-the-art infrastructure, and a skilled talent pool allow us to offer scalableand high-reliability solutions across verticals such as Industrial, Automotive, Consumer, Healthcare, Railway and Aerospace &Defense electronics.
3. How do your RFID solutions and IoT offerings cater to the evolving needs of the electronics industry? Are there any particular industries where you see increased adoption of these technologies?
Manu P Dhagat: RFID based bin tagging / tracking can automate the tasks of bin identification and tracking in the electronics manufacturing supply chain thus eliminating costly errors and increasing efficiency.
The Retail industry worldwide is extensively using RFID technology for the last 10 years. Walmart, Target, Decathlon, Uniqlo, Marks and Spencer etc. rely on RFID technology for better inventory control, for preventing inventory shrinkage and for enabling services like self-checkout. In India, Tata- Zudio, Reliance Retail are early adopters, and other retailers are quickly following suit. RFID for retail is a USD 1.3 Billion business already
Technology is set to solve serious problems in Logistics and Pharma & Healthcare industries. The early adopters have seen huge benefits and technology will be the next big thing in these industries in about a year’s time.
4. What are your plans to further expand your offerings in advanced electronics manufacturing and strengthen your position in the global market?
Satendra Singh: Recognizing the growing opportunities in the European market, we have significantly strengthened our Germany facility – establishing it as a comprehensive hub for design, prototyping, and manufacturing services to better serve our regional customers.
To support our increasing customer base in North America, we have engaged a trusted manufacturing partner in the U.S., and are actively exploring expansion of our capabilities in North America.
Simultaneously, we are expanding our Special Economic Zone (SEZ) facilities in India to further boost our export capabilities. These strategic initiatives are aligned with our vision to be a globally preferred electronics manufacturing partner—delivering speed, flexibility, and value through localized support and a truly integrated supply chain.
