Almere Haven, 8 October 2014, Victron Energy, a leading Dutch power solutions provider, announces the expansion of its Blue Power Charger IP67 range with three new models, 24V/5A, 12V/7A and 12V/13A.
In expanding the range, Victron Energy is meeting customer demand for lower output chargers suitable for harsh environments. Just like the higher output ones, the new models are very efficient, wasting three to four times less heat when compared to the industry standard.
The series now comprises seven models, divided into a 12V and 24V models range. The new Blue Power Charger IP67 12V series ranges from 12V/7A up to 12V/25A, the Blue Power Charger IP67 24V series ranges from 24V/5A right up to the Blue Power Charger IP67 24V/12A. All models feature a cast aluminium casing with moulded resin encapsulated electronics, so neither water, dirt nor oil can cause any damage. Its rugged waterproof, shockproof and ignition protected design ensures that these Blue Power Chargers can be used in many environments, be that a garage, shipyard, marina, campsite or in a competitive racing environment.
Features of the Blue Power Charger IP67:
– Adaptive 4-stage charge algorithm. This feature will automatically optimize the charging process relative to the way the battery is being used.
– Protected against overheating. Also suitable for hot environments such as a machine room. Output current will reduce as temperature increases up to 60°C, but the charger will not fail.
– Storage mode. In the event that a battery has not been discharged during a 24 hour period, the charger will switch to storage mode. In the storage mode float voltage is reduced to minimise gassing and corrosion of the positive plates. This feature prevents stratification of the electrolyte and sulphation, which is a major cause of early battery failure.
– Start interrupt on the high-end models. This feature prevents the starting of a vehicle before the battery charger is unplugged.
The new Blue Power Chargers are available now.
