Vi TECHNOLOGY’s Pi SPI Wins for Inspection – SPI and Best European Product

The awards were presented to the company during a Tuesday, Sept. 30, 2014 ceremony that took place at the Donald Stephens Convention Center in Rosemont, IL during SMTA International.
Pi is the most revolutionary SPI system developed to-date since solder paste inspection was introduced in the SMT industry. Being the next SPI generation, Pi is fully connectable and provides solutions to improve processes. Combined with Sigma Link and AOI solutions, Pi enables the user to improve processes through a complete analysis of the solder joints versus solder paste deposit. Pi also is compatible with all major printers.
Pi is innovative, intelligent and intuitive, and allows the customer to see and measure the print process like never before. With 360° Moiré technology, Pi is the first SPI to use angle cameras to measure the solder paste deposit. Taking about 352 images per field of view, and thanks to the amazingly powerful computing system (100 times more computing power than conventional solutions), Pi provides an ultra large image in 3D true color. It offers a large PCB capability (up to 533 x 600mms) within a very small envelope (only 800mms wide), responding to the increasing constraints on floor space in modern SMD lines.
