New GEN PFC Online UPS
NewGEN PFC Online UPS

UTL has developed DSP technology based newGEN PFC Online UPS to meet the energy efficiency requirement of the IT industry through advanced PFC Technology. This product has a special feature of Touch Screen User Interface. User can switch the unit On & Off as well as trace input & output parameters in digital and graphical formats though just a few touches. The purpose of PFC (Power Factor Corrector) is to correct the phase angle of Input AC current in such a way that it harmonizes in the angle of input ac voltage making input power factor very close to unity. This harmony of phase angles of input current and voltage reduces the difference between Watt and VA consumption, on which the commercial energy invoices are raised these days, thus comprehensively reducing the electricity expenses of the user. General Online UPSs with SCR models utilize the Input voltage phase at various angles according to the power requirements of load & charging but user has to pay for the full wave practically, whereas newGEN PFC Model uses DSP (Digital Signal Processing) Power Factor Correction Technology and utilizes full wave while drawing only required current in similar phase angle thereby consuming less power and obviously saving ELECTRICITY BILL for user. According to our calculations a normal SCR based 5 KVA Online UPS consumes 28 Amp AC current when runs at 80% load, while UTL PFC Online UPS takes17 Amp AC current for similar load, thus saving 11 Amp of electric consumption. This saving is roughly 2 KVAH per hour, and if the unit runs 10 hours a day this becomes 20 units a day and roughly 500 units a month and finally 6000 units a year. Going by the minimum commercial price of Rs 5 per unit the customer can save Rs 30000 in a year, an amount which is close to the cost of the whole 5KVA UTL PFC Online UPS.
