“The vision to expand rural industrialisation by leveraging digital technologies and create one lakh digital villages in the next five years is a welcome step proposed by the budget. This is expected to create opportunities and multiple manufacturing clusters across the country. This will also give a much needed fillip to the share of manufacturing in overall GDP of the country.
The interim budget for FY19-20 stated that India is now on its way to becoming a global manufacturing hub in sectors like automobiles, defence and electronics. While this is a positive development, the nation has tremendous untapped potential in several other sectors, and removal of impediments in those segments can boost India’s overall capabilities as a true manufacturing major.”
