Brings powerful debugging tools to world’s fastest growing software development market
Cambridge, UK, and Bangalore, India, 30 June 2015, As part of its global expansion, advanced debugging tool provider Undo Software today announced that it has appointed FTD Infocom to distribute its software tools in India.
This agreement allows Undo to target a market that is predicted to include nearly 20% of worldwide developers by 2017, according to analysts Evans Data Corp., larger even than the United States. Analyst IDC reports that 2014 IT services revenue in India reached $7.7 billion, and is expected to grow at around 11% per annum up until 2019.
Undo chose to partner with FTD due to its existing complementary portfolio of products and services and deep local knowledge of the embedded and software development market. Founded in 2007, Bangalore-based FTD already works with leading international companies such as Cadence and IAR to provide their software tools, training and services to local, international and academic organisations within India. It is also an ARM Approved Training Center. It has already invested in technical skills around Undo’s technology, employing a specialist to provide support to future Indian customers.
FTD will sell Undo’s complete family of development tools for Linux and Android. Used by over 1,000 developers globally, these enable software companies to dramatically improve debugging efforts, therefore increasing productivity, meeting development deadlines and ensuring customer satisfaction. Undo’s Live Recorder allows developers to debug exact copies of customer problems, without needing to reproduce them in-house, while the UndoDB reversible debugging tool enables developers to record, rewind and replay program execution to quickly find critical bugs.
“India is poised to become the largest software development market in the world, providing us with a potentially huge opportunity,” said Greg Law, CEO and co-founder, Undo Software. “FTD has a strong market presence with exactly the sort of companies that will benefit from our technology, backed by technical support and a portfolio of complementary products. This makes it the perfect partner as we expand outside the United States and Europe. I look forward to working with FTD to develop our sales within India.”
After receiving fourth round funding of $2m in April 2015, Undo Software is aiming to accelerate its sales growth and expects to sign further partnerships across the globe within the coming months.
“Over the past eight years we have built an extensive portfolio of embedded tools and services, and are always looking to partner with vendors that can add real value to our customer base,” said Prabhakar Srivatsan V, Chief Executive Officer of FTD Infocom. “We are very excited to bring Undo into India. Across the country we are seeing a major shift to Linux and mobile development, and Undo’s market-leading debugging tools provide the perfect solution to help companies in this sector speed up development, find bugs quicker and ship code faster.”
