EU designation complements TT Ohio facility’s US FAA repair station status
Woking, UK, 12 February 2020 – TT Electronics, global provider of engineered electronics for performance critical applications, today announced its Cleveland, Ohio facility has been awarded Part 145 Repair Station certification by the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA). EASA regulates civil aviation safety and stipulates that aircraft parts must be inspected, maintained, or altered by certified repair stations in order to be installed legally in an aircraft. This certificate testifies that the type of work conducted meets the safety requirements set by the European Union.
EASA’s official approval allows TT’s Ohio facility to repair and certify parts from the EU that appear on the EASA capabilities list and complements the facility’s Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) repair station status. The term ‘repair station’ refers to a maintenance facility that holds a certificate issued by the FAA under Title 14 of the Code of Federal Regulations (14 CFR) Part 145, and is engaged in the maintenance, preventive maintenance, inspection, and alteration of aircraft and aircraft products.
