Embedded World – the leading international Fair for Embedded Systems scheduled to be from 23 to 25 February, 2016 at Nuremberg Trade Fair Centre, Nuremberg, Germany.
Embedded World had more than 902 exhibitors at the 2015 fair and nearly 26000 visitors from around the world.
In the interview with Mr. Benedikt Wayerer, Project Incharge of the Embedded World shares the show focus and explains how it is unique platform for embedded design industry.
- Tell us about the highlighted features of your upcoming edition of embedded world exhibition.
The thematic focus of this year’s embedded world is on the Internet of Things and Safety & Security for Embedded Systems. Moreover, embedded world continues to be the most important and biggest trade show for embedded system technologies. It showcases the latest products from the segments software, hardware, tools, safety & security, electronic displays, machine to machine communication and services. There are probably very few sectors that can demonstrate such great innovative strength. This is why in 2016, there will once again be a large number of new products and innovations on display at the trade fair.
- How does it differ from other events of this kind and what about the preparations?
The embedded world is a working exhibition in the truest sense of the term. It is where experts meet their peers face-to-face to get projects up and running, exchange new ideas and obtain information about the latest innovations. In this context, the dialogue between professionals is a key element of this high-calibre event. The embedded world Exhibition & Conference is a unique event worldwide and the biggest and most important international industry platform covering the entire supply chain for embedded system technology.
- What are the thematic areas?
This year, embedded world is offering three special presentations:the M2M and electronic displays Areas and for the first time, the Safety & Security Area. From a technical perspective they usefully complement the product range on display at embedded world and also bridge the gap to the embedded world Conference and electronic displays Conference. At these two English-language congresses, the future direction of many of the topics covered by the special display areas will be explored in more depth in a professional discourse and dialogue and presented to industry experts from all over the world.
- What is your role?
As Director Exhibition for the embedded world Exhibition & Conference at Nürnberg Messe Group I am responsible for the technical and organisational aspects of the trade fair.
- What is the current booking status for the exhibition in 2016?
We are delighted that over the last 14 years, embedded world has become established in the sector as the No. 1 international gathering place for the global embedded community.
- What is the exhibition area?
We assume that we will at least match last year’s levels for all key figures relating to the fair. In respect of floor space leased we can already predict that we are going to equal the 2015 record.
- Tell us about the profile of exhibitors and visitors?
At embedded world, experts from all over the world meet their peers and exhibitors get to know highly professional and informed industry insiders. All industry players working on embedded systems or the Internet of Things, regardless of whether they are developers, decision-makers or engineers, make the trip to Nuremberg every year for this highlight on the sector’s calendar. It is where the international embedded community comes together.
- Can you discuss trends and technologies in embedded design?
The Internet of Things and Safety & Security for Embedded Systems are the key thematic areas at the 2016 event.
- Will you cover any conference discussing trends and technologies in this show?
As well as the trade fair, the concurrent embedded world Conference and electronic displays Conference will explore the latest trends and state-of-the-art in the sector, giving due consideration to the prospects for the future. The most innovative minds in the sector will present and discuss the trends and visions for the future. The slogan “We are the Internet of Things” is a clear statement of the direction being taken by the industry.
- What are your expectations regarding exhibitor and visitor numbers?
We are confident of achieving the same numbers as in 2015 but ideally we would like to break new records. This already looks likely in respect of the exhibition space booked to date.
