Saves more than 20 lakh units of energy in the city

Mumbai, 29th June, 2016 – Tata Power’s nationwide resource and energy conservation movement Club Enerji, has been constantly spreading awareness about resource conservation across the country, with a strategic focus on national building. Continuing with its momentum, in 2015-16, Tata Power Club Enerji sensitised around 20 lakh citizens in Mumbai through primary contact programme and secondary sensitisation and saved around 20 lakh units of energy in the city.

Tata Power’s Club Enerji movement in Mumbai currently has 30187 Energy Champions and 28,620 Energy Ambassadors across schools. Tata Power’s ‘Energy Conservation Programme’ introduced in more than 205 schools in the city, aims at creating maximum impact by educating and creating awareness amongst citizens on the effective management and conservation of energy in our everyday life.

The Club Enerji initiative has been contributing extensively towards a brighter and greener tomorrow by undertaking several successful initiatives. In 2015-16 the programme also launched an online module of the Club Enerji programme wherein the users would simply need to register for a detailed access to it. As part of its initiatives, Club Enerji recently organised activities for the school students like nature trails and visits to Tata Power Mahseer hatchery in Lonavala to increase awareness on its conservation projects and also provide practical knowledge about the environment.

Speaking on this achievement, Mr Anil Sardana, CEO & Managing Director, Tata Power stated, “We, at Tata Power are delighted and proud to achieve this significant milestone with our focused approach of spreading the message of energy conservation across the country. Today, it gives me immense pleasure to say that our efforts have managed to save a considerable amount of energy in Mumbai which could light up thousands of homes in the city. I take this opportunity to thank our partners, students, principals, teachers, and parents in helping us achieve this milestone.”

The Club Enerji initiative has been contributing extensively towards a brighter and greener tomorrow by undertaking several successful initiatives.  It encourages students to form their own mini clubs in their schools and societies to reach out to more citizens. In FY15-16, the Club members have collectively saved 3.5 million units of electricity and sensitized more than 2.5 million (25 lakh) citizens across the nation. Tata Power has added a feather to its cap by organizing Energy-Q championship to honour the young minds on their Energy Quotient.
