Enables Carriers and Equipment Manufacturers to Validate Mobile Services at a Global Scale

Bangalore – July 04, 2016 – Spirent Communications, the leading provider of mobile network and service test solutions, today announced the launch of Spirent Landslide C100-M2 test platform for Mobile Core, Wi-Fi, IMS, and Diameter networks. The system is designed for Network Equipment Manufacturers (NEMs) and carriers building out their networks to support mobile broadband applications including: voice, enterprise, safety, IoT and M2M and other services on a global scale. These services require scaling of both the data plane of the network and control features like mobility, policy, authentication, and billing. The C100-M2 test platform delivers 3X the emulation scale and 2X the connection rates from previous platforms.

“In the recent Light Reading evaluation of Nokia’s Virtualized Mobile Gateway, we demonstrated massive scale of 60M UEs and 120M bearers on a single blade server,” said Koosh Mohajeri, Director, Consulting and Solutions Engineering, Nokia. “The Landslide C100-M2 test platform enabled us to generate a real-world mix of consumer and IoT, control, and data-plane traffic to demonstrate Nokia’s outstanding performance, scalability and readiness for market.”

“With the explosion in the number of connected devices, Spirent’s customers are looking for a test solution to validate that their networks and devices can deliver a high quality of experience across multiple services at scale,” said Richard Wank – Director Product Management. “Our new C100-M2 platform enables the creation of test beds scaling from thousands to hundreds of millions of end points, all with real-world mobility and traffic mixes”.

Spirent’s Landslide family of test applications are used by equipment manufacturers and operators in the development, deployment and operations of Mobile, Wi-Fi, IMS and Diameter networks and services. With the addition of the C100-M2 solution’s advanced test capability for mobile networks and services, customers can easily emulate mobile subscribers traversing the network using a mix real-world of applications and services. It enables Landslide test cases ranging from a targeted enterprise application to recreating consumer broadband loading scenarios in the largest Tier 1 mobile networks. The C100-M2 is used for development and regression testing as well as recreating busy hour scenarios and issues found post deployment.
