A few months ago, in November 2013, the Raspberry Pi went over 2 million sold units. Today, via UK Tech Reception, the creator of Raspberry Pi announced that they sold another 1 million units, expanding this very particular and healthy market.
Three million units sold and one million in the last nine months shows that the Raspberry Pi success will not slow down anytime soon, thanks to a growing community of fans and developers.
The announcement was made during UK Tech Reception, a formal meeting hosted by the Queen, attended by the Duke of Edinburgh, Prince William and Prince Andrew, to discuss the most recent British technology success.
Prince Andrew turned out to be the most informed as a Raspberry Pi user and had a chance to visit the firm’s HQ. He publicly backed the project, encouraging the use of it in every classroom of the realm. The Raspberry Pi can even rely upon the Royal Family as now they have yet another strong ally.
