RECOM announces the launch of its RPMB-3.0 range of 3A non-isolated DC/DCs in a DOSA-compatible LGA package with adjustable output from 1-24V and input voltage up to 36V.

With the launch of its RPMB-3.0 series, RECOM has expanded its range of compact, non-isolated DC/DCs in its standard 12.19 x 12.19 x 3.75mm DOSA-compatible, thermally-enhanced LGA package. Preset outputs available are 3.3V (trimmable 1-9V), 5V (trimmable 1-9V), 12V (trimmable 9-24V), or 15V (trimmable 9-24V). All variants operate up to 36V input with a low dropout voltage of 500mV or less. All parts operate to 100°C ambient with some load derating but without the need for forced air cooling. The efficiency is up to 94% allowing the full output current of 3A across the entire input voltage range. Efficiency is also excellent down to very low loads, which combined with a very low quiescent current of 30µA (3.3V version), makes this series suitable for applications that have ‘sleep’ modes such as microcontrollers and transceivers. The parts also feature 6-sided shielding for low radiated EMI and excellent thermal management.

Particular features are full protection (UVLO, SCP, OCP, OTP) and the ability to drive high capacitive loads up to 0.2F. Power sequencing, soft start, on/off control, remote sensing, and a power good signal are also provided. An evaluation board RPMB-3.0-EVM-1 is available which allows all of the features to be tested with component positions provided to enable filter networks to be developed for an optimum solution for compliance with class B conducted EMI levels.

“The RPMBxx3.0 complements our RPM5.0-3.0 and RPM3.3-3.0 3A-rated switching regulators with its high input voltage rating which includes the industry-standard 24V”, comments Steve Roberts, Innovation Manager at RECOM. “Users can now drop 24V directly to voltages as low as 1V to power sensors, displays, and wireless modules such as GPRS, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth-meshTM.”

Samples and OEM pricing are available from all authorized distributors or directly from RECOM.
