Demonstration highlights security-oriented connectivity, monitoring and provisioning of IoT endpoints
SUNNYVALE, Calif.–Rambus announced it will showcase its IoT service and technology designed to take advantage of the secure features in Qualcomm Technologies’ chipsets to facilitate security-rich IoT communication and lifecycle management. Security features in the demo are powered by the Rambus CryptoManager platform, highlighting how IoT devices can provide increased protection to significantly reduce service vulnerability to Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) attacks. The demonstration also highlights the benefits of integrating hardware-based security into an IC, giving original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) the option of replacing external security chips to help reduce overall bill of materials costs.
What: Embedded World 2017
Where: Nuremberg Exhibition Center, Nuremberg, Germany, Hall 3, Booth 3-141
When: March 14-16, 2017
This demonstration highlights a smart city application and features the Qualcomm® SnapdragonTM 820 processor and QCA4010 Wi-Fi chip, both products of Qualcomm Technologies, Inc., which are capable of connecting to an IoT cloud service using a protected link. The Rambus technology enables seamless security-focused features which includes mutual authentication and encrypted communication to protect IoT devices from being used by hackers in malicious botnets. As well, this technology is designed to help prevent the IoT cloud service from being attacked by cloned devices.
