At the embedded world 2015 in Nuremberg GOEPEL electronics announced the availability of the VarioTAP software option for the processors of the TriCore AURIX family from Infineon. VarioTAP is a technology for universal processor emulation, created by GOEPEL electronics. Through the new models support for Infineon architectures will be expanded. AURIX processors belong to the latest TriCore generation and are mainly used in automotive control units.
The VarioTAP technology turns the processor into a design integrated test and programming instrument. The user can select the processor model and then test and validate the connected hardware units as well as in-system programming of flash memories. The use of VarioTAP does not require any needles or probes for contacting the UUT. The technology is part of the Embedded System Access (ESA) and is based on design-integrated test electronics. Therefore, a combination with other non-intrusive methods such as Boundary Scan, Chip Embedded Instruments or FPGA Assisted Test is possible on one platform.
