The awards were presented to Persistent Systems by Dr. Jitendra Singh, Minister of State for Prime Minister’s Office at the Aegis Graham Bell award ceremony held on the 27th of November at the NDMC Convention Center, Jantar Mantar, New Delhi.
Persistent’s E100 is a location-based Emergency Response System that can quickly determine the location of a distressed mobile caller to enable responding agencies to provide timely and efficient assistance. The solution includes a Computer-aided dispatch system that enables the authorities to set up cost effective control rooms within a matter of few hours. Addressing the public safety requirements of India, the solution works on all phones without the need for a mobile application, GPS, or data connectivity, thereby bringing in a social impact to the entire population of India.
A limited feature version of this solution was successfully deployed at the recently held Simhastha Kumbh Mela 2015 at Trimbakeshwar. The solution complemented the efforts of the Police authorities to ensure a well-planned and successful Kumbh Mela.
Nara Rajagopalan, CEO of Accelerite, the products business of Persistent Systems said “Over the last decade, the mobile revolution has ensured convenient and affordable mobile telephony access to a large section of India’s population. This offers a tremendous opportunity to build innovative products and services that can make a social impact. E100 is one such innovation in the context of public safety.
