Aims at Satisfying Increasing Demand For Coherent Transmission Modules and Compact Optical Amplifier Applications
HONG KONG, Sept 21, 2017 – (ACN Newswire) – O-Net Technologies (Group) Limited (“O-Net” or the “Group”) (stock code: 877), a leading high-technology enterprise, is pleased to announce the launch of 980nm uncooled pump laser in small form factor TO-Can package (“TO pump”), a high-power laser for optical amplification applications for coherent transmission modules and compact optical fiber amplifier applications. The product will encourage the transition to the next generation of small form factor compact EDFA which can be incorporated inside the CFP2 ACO / DCO modules and has set a new industry standard. With the launch of the new product, O-Net will start the qualification process with various major customers, and mass production of the TO pump is expected to commence in Q1 2018.

In view of the strong demand for coherent transmission products to support rising bandwidth demand for data center interconnect and metro networks, the Group leverages state-of-art design and manufacturing capability of 3SP Technologies (“3SP”) and the TO-Can packaging technology of O-Net to make significant strides in pump laser technology as demonstrated by the development of the TO pump. The TO pump is derived from a 980 nm uncooled pump laser platform for optical amplification which significantly reduces in product size and enables operation in condensed physical environments.
