New TL3 Series available in five case sizes for high-volume applications
Vishay Sprague’s new TL3 Series of TANTAMOUNT™ surface-mount tantalum moulded chip capacitors is available now from TTI, Inc., the world’s leading specialist distributor of passive, connector, electromechanical and discrete components. The TL3 Series enables 
systems designers to extend the battery run-time of portable devices, thanks to enhanced reliability and very low DCL. These new tantalum chip capacitors suit multiple applications, including consumer, medical, industrial and telecoms infrastructure equipment.
Available in five standard EIA case sizes (A through E), TANTAMOUNT™ TL3 devices are rated from 4V to 50V and boast reliability figures at rated voltage of 0.50% over 1000 hours at 85degC. Capacitance range is 0.2 µF to 470µF and capacitance tolerance ±10% or ±20% depending on the model selected. Case sizes B, C, D and E are 100% surge current tested. DC leakage is 0.005 CV. Low ESR versions are available as an option. The devices are qualified to IPC/JEDEC Moisture Sensitivity Level 1 and are immune to popcorn cracking regardless of exposure to moisture.
Terminations are either 100% matte tin (RoHS compliant) or standard tin/lead. Halogen-free parts are available on request. TL3 Series surface-mount moulded tantalum chip capacitors are fully compatible with high volume automatic pick and place equipment and are packaged in 8mm, 12mm and 24mm plastic-embossed tape on 7in (178mm) or 13in (330mm) reels.
