Hoofddorp, The Netherlands: Murata, a world leading manufacturer of electronic components and solutions, today announced a partnership with Silvair, a pioneer in Bluetooth®-based lighting control technologies for commercial applications. Murata has selected Silvair’s Bluetooth® mesh stack and commissioning platform for its fixture-integrated sensor which is one of the first commercially available products with Bluetooth® mesh connectivity for professional lighting.
Integrated into a small cylindrical package, the sensor combines occupancy sensing, daylight harvesting, 0-10V analog dimming and Bluetooth® mesh radio circuits that uses Silvair’s Bluetooth® mesh stack. When used with 0-10V dim-to-off LED drivers, it enables any lighting manufacturer to deliver wirelessly-controllable and sensor-equipped fixtures with minimum engineering effort.
The sensor-equipped luminaires just need to be connected to mains power and can be commissioned and configured using Silvair Platform. The result is both occupant comfort and energy savings that meet the most demanding building energy codes. Taking advantage of Bluetooth® mesh, the first wireless standard that ensures unmatched scalability and reliability, the wireless lighting control system can be expanded seamlessly with any Bluetooth® mesh-certified products and/or compatible Bluetooth® switches as needed.
“We are delighted to join forces with one of the world’s leading component manufacturers. I am absolutely convinced that Murata’s fixture-integrated sensor driven by our Bluetooth® mesh-based technology will become an important part of many lighting control systems” said Rafal Han, CEO of Silvair. “Our relationship with Murata symbolises a revolution that is about to disrupt an entire lighting industry.”
“We are very excited to collaborate with Silvair on launching our fixture-integrated sensor node into the Bluetooth® ecosystem,” said Norio Nakajima, Murata’s Senior Executive Vice President, Module Business Unit. “Our RF design and sensor technologies combined with Silvair’s solution enable our customers to provide future-proof IoT lighting fixtures, which we believe will transform commercial buildings to even more comfort and efficient spaces.”
More information about Murata’s fixture-integrated sensor and Silvair’s Bluetooth mesh solutions can be found at the Silvair booth (no. 9.1 E80) during the world’s leading trade fair for lighting and building services technology Light + Building in Frankfurt (March 18-23).
