TTI, Molex and Panasonic Join for Season of All-Electric Car Racing
November 10, 2016 – Still riding high after last season’s outstanding performance, the Mouser Electronics-sponsored Faraday Future Dragon Racing Formula E team is preparing for a challenge in the Moroccan desert November 12 at the Marrakesh ePrix. The talented team of Jerome D’Ambrosio and Loic Duval is looking for deliverance in the desert after finishing 7th and 14th, respectively, at the season opener last month in Hong Kong.
Mouser is a proud sponsor of the 2016–17 Faraday Future Dragon Racing team in collaboration with TTI, Inc. and valued supplier partners Molex and Panasonic. This is the third straight year that Mouser Electronics is sponsoring Formula E racing, a high-tech sport that is paving the way for future automotive technologies.
“These all-electric race cars are the epitome of cutting-edge technology, and our sponsorship aligns us with the leading pioneers of this new technology,” said Todd McAtee, Vice President, Americas Business Development for Mouser Electronics. “Mouser is ready for another exciting season with the Faraday Future Dragon Racing team and welcome the opportunity to team up with Molex, Panasonic, and TTI.”
Formula E features cars powered exclusively by electric power and represents a vision for the future of the motor sports industry, serving as a framework for research and development around the electric vehicle.
“Molex is very proud to once again partner with Mouser to sponsor the Faraday Future Dragon team,” said Fred Bell, Vice President of Global Distribution for Molex. “We anticipate a tremendous racing season with these talented drivers.”
Jeff Howell, President of Panasonic Industrial Devices Sales Company of America, commented, “In less than three years these cars have proven that electric vehicles also can have high performance. We at Panasonic are very pleased to be part of developing this forward-thinking technology.”
After Marrakesh, the team ships out to Argentina, for the Buenos Aires ePrix on February 18. This season, the Formula E racing series is expanding 14 rounds at 12 venues, with new races in Brussels, Montreal and New York City, while the Monaco ePrix will return to the calendar after a one-year absence.
