July 30, 2015 – Mouser Electronics, Inc. is now shipping the new nRF52 Development Kit from Nordic Semiconductor. The nRF52 Development Kit is a standalone development board for rapidly developing Bluetooth® Smart (formerly Bluetooth Low Energy), ANT, or 2.4GHz applications for the nRF52 series systems-on-chip (SoCs).
The Nordic Semiconductor nRF52 Development Kit, available from Mouser Electronics, supports development for the onboard nRF552832 SoC. The nRF52832 SoC is built around a 32-bit ARM® Cortex™ M4F CPU with 512kBytes of flash and 64kBytes RAM. The embedded 2.4GHz transceiver supports Bluetooth Smart, ANT and proprietary 2.4 GHz protocol stack. The kit includes four user-programmable buttons and LEDs, is hardware compatible with the Arduino Uno R3-based shields, and features connector pins for all I/O and interfaces, including a dedicated connector for an external NFC antenna. The kit supports the standard Nordic tool-chain software using Keil, IAR and GCC as well as Segger J-Link OB for programming and debugging. The board runs on 1.7V to 3.6V through onboard USB, and also includes a CR2032 coin cell battery holder so that the board can be used in standalone applications.
The nRF52 Development Kit can help designers quickly create solutions for Internet of Things (IoT) applications and small devices such as medical devices, wearables, and industrial sensors.
