September 23, 2016 – Still pumped up after a brilliant first-place finish at the Dual 1 race at the Detroit Belle Isle Grand Prix, the Mouser-sponsored KVSH No. 11 car race team is eagerly preparing for the GoPro Grand Prix of Sonoma (Calif.) on September 18, the final race of the season. The team, with championship driver Sebastien Bourdais again behind the wheel, is anticipating a big finish at Sonoma, a challenging 2.385-mile course with 12 turns.
Bourdais finished a strong fifth place on September 4 at the Grand Prix at Watkins Glen (NY). Bourdais moved up two spots in the overall driver standings and goes into Sonoma ranked 12th. In 15 starts this year, Bourdais has finished in the top-10 an impressive 10 times — including three finishes in the top five — plus the pole at the 2016 Le Mans 24 Hours in the GTE Pro category.
Mouser Electronics, the global authorized distributor with the newest semiconductors and electronic components, is very pleased to once again partner with valued supplier Molex to sponsor Bourdais and the No. 11 car in this year’s Verizon IndyCar Series.
“Mouser is thrilled to be part of the KVSH racing team,” said Todd McAtee, Mouser Electronics’ Vice President, Americas Business Development. “For the race team, it’s all about skill, precision and speed, much the way it is in our business here at Mouser. We see our sponsorship as one more way to communicate our performance-driven business model to our many customers.”
“At Molex, we bring the same commitment to hard work and high performance as KVSH. And as a sponsor of the Number 11 IndyCar with Mouser, we reinforce our commitment to developing and applying new solutions that move the auto industry forward,” said Fred Bell, Molex’s Vice President of Global Distribution. “Sebastien and the KVSH team have a history of excellence, and we are looking forward to a competitive, historic race at Sonoma.”
The Mouser- and Molex-sponsored car won the Indianapolis 500 in 2013, and Bourdais’ strong track record has heightened hopes for an exciting finish in California. Bourdais is contesting his 11th Verizon IndyCar season and third with KVSH Racing. In more than 150 career IndyCar starts, he has won 35 races and taken 33 pole positions, tying him for seventh on the all-time list in each category. Bourdais is the only driver to win four consecutive IndyCar championships, taking the title in 2004 through 2007.
