February 10, 2016 – Mouser Electronics, Inc. today announced a global distribution agreement with Bosch Connected Devices and Solutions, developers and marketers of innovative connected devices and solutions for Internet of Things (IoT) applications. Capitalizing on the Bosch Group’s expertise in microelectromechanical system (MEMS) sensors, Bosch Connected Devices and Solutions integrates the small but powerful technology into smart devices that extend IoT systems to many different applications.
The Bosch Connected Devices and Solutions product line, available at Mouser Electronics, features the XDK110 Cross-Domain Development Kit. The Cross-Domain Development Kit (XDK) is an integrated prototyping platform for virtually any IoT application. With state-of-the-art MEMS sensor technology and ready-to-use software packages, it enables developers to quickly build IoT applications based on a CE-, FCC-, and IC-certified platform.
The XDK110 kit is a hardware- and software-development platform for IoT use cases and proof-of-concept projects. The compact (60mm × 40mm) kit features a full array of Bosch sensors — including an accelerometer, gyroscope, magnetometer, and environmental sensors — and a 32-bit ARM® Cortex®-M3 microcontroller with 1 MByte of flash and 128 kBytes of RAM. The kit integrates a Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) radio with a BLE protocol stack and an 802.11b/g/n radio for WLAN wireless connectivity, and offers the LWM2M communication protocol for managing IoT devices and application data.
The XDK110 software includes the XDK Workbench, a development platform that provides a direct interface to the XDK community as well as high-level and low-level sensor application programming interfaces (APIs) to give developers immediate access to the provided hardware components. The XDK110’s ready-to-use FreeRTOS-based operating system enables real-time IoT applications. For extended functionality, the kit includes an XDK Gateway breakout board and connector cable; and though communication via debugger is not required, the kit includes an interface for a standard J-Link probe.
