Thought leadership on Industry 4.0 manufacturing and development of the IPC Connected Factory Exchange (CFX) is recognized

vmHORSHAM, PA (March 16, 2020) – Aegis Software, a global provider of Manufacturing Execution Software (MES), today announces that Michael Ford, Director of Emerging Industry Strategy, has been presented with the IPC President’s Award by John Mitchell, IPC president, and CEO.

With many years of influence in the industry, driving a new age of affordable and practical digital manufacturing technology solutions, Aegis has made a significant impact in the industry. Recognizing the need for the interoperability and true collaboration between companies in all roles within the industry, Aegis has strongly contributed to the creation and advancement of IPC standards, including IPC-2591 Connected Factory Exchange (CFX). These standards represent the only way that true Smart manufacturing and Industry 4.0 can be achieved without customers needing to make wasteful investments in middleware, nor have a dependency on monopolistic proprietary data exchange solutions.

Michael Ford comments, “Having historically experienced many core industry challenges in the adoption of digital systems in manufacturing, the opportunity that Aegis provides to directly evolve the industry, not only by thought-leadership, but by active contribution to consensus-based standards that the IPC represents, is extremely valuable, and personally very satisfying.”

Jason Spera, CEO of Aegis, comments, “We are extremely proud of Michael’s achievements and the ongoing contributions he is making to educate and advance the use of standards to further propel the manufacturing industry forward. Many of our company members are actively involved in IPC standard development, making this recognition for Michael and Aegis very significant. We are dedicated to making the whole industry an environment in which artificial barriers to the achievement of Industry 4.0 benefits are eliminated. This really differentiates our business, technology, and culture, which our customers greatly appreciate.”

The Aegis FactoryLogix IIoT-based digital manufacturing solution is the first in the industry to support the IPC-CFX standard, which in itself, brings real, achievable and cost-effective Smart Industry 4.0 manufacturing opportunities to every manufacturing site/enterprise in the industry, no matter their sector, tier, or location.
