– Offers Enhanced Overcurrent Protection and Surge Withstand Capability
– Ideal for protecting LED/LCD TVs, digital display systems, and digital signage

China, Beijing, March 3, 2015 — Littelfuse, Inc., the global leader in circuit protection, has introduced the 835 Series Fuse, a time-lag, ceramic body AC fuse. The 835 Series is the first fuse from Littelfuse to combine an unparalleled I2t value, a maximum interrupting rating of 1,500A@250Vac, and 1.5kA 8/20µs surge withstand capability in a 5x20mm footprint. Current ratings of 5A, 6.3A and 8A are available. This fuse, packaged in both cartridge and leaded versions, is designed to withstand frequent power surges and protect electronic devices installed in surge-prone environments. The 835 Series meets all the requirements outlined in global IEC 60127-2, Sheet 5 specification for time-lag fuses. It is RoHS compliant and 100% lead free.

Littelfuse 835 Time-lag Fuse Typical applications for the 835 Series include overcurrent protection for LED/LCD TVs, digital display systems, and digital signage.
“As LED/LCD TVs are becoming more and more affordable, they are widely installed in commercial and public sites that are subjected to higher AC line transients and lightning surge threats throughout their life cycle,” said Ben Zheng, global product manager for the 835 Series fuse line. “The 835 Series reduces nuisance opening of fuses and withstands higher and more frequent power surges than other industry solutions, for improved reliability and robustness. For electronic device manufacturers, that means lower repair and warranty costs by decreasing the failure rate and minimizing field returns.”
All 835 Series Fuses Offer These Key Benefits:
• Higher I2t and 1.5kA surge withstand capability reduces nuisance opening of fuses, improving the reliability of electronic devices.
• 5x22mm compact footprint saves space on the printed circuit board.
• Operating temperature range from -55°C to 125°C ensures robust performance and reliable protection in extreme temperature environments.
