Customizable upscreening and sorting process flows also available
China, Beijing, June 30, 2015 — Littelfuse, Inc., the global leader in circuit protection, has introduced six new series of high reliability TVS diodes that are upscreened for use in aerospace applications. The 5KP/15KPA/30KPA-HR and 5KP/15KPA/30KPA-HRA Series High-Reliability TVS Diodes are designed specifically to protect sensitive electronic equipment from voltage transients induced by lightning surges and other transient voltage events. They have been specially screened and sorted for use in DC line protection for applications that demand high reliability.
Well-suited for robust DC power protection and ESD protection, these new TVS diodes series are designed for application in aviation electronics (avionics) like FADEC, airplane sensors, avionics computers, fly-by-wire flight control systems, cockpit electronic equipment, and airport landing aid systems. Other uses include industrial applications such as in the energy industry. In addition to these off-the-shelf components, Littelfuse offers customizable upscreening and sorting flow solutions for these products to meet specialized requirements of aerospace, military, industrial and medical applications.
“Not so long ago, anyone who required high reliability TVS Diodes upscreened to specific standards had to have commercial-grade components shipped to outside subcontractor labs to undergo extra sorting processes. That extra step meant a much longer wait for delivery and substantially higher component costs,” said Charlie Cai, Global Product Manager/Hi-Rel and Automotive TVS Diodes. “Now that Littelfuse is offering upscreened products off the shelf as well as process flows that can customized to our customers’ requirements, they can get the parts they need much more quickly and economically.”

Customizable upscreening/sorting processes available for both -HR and -HRA Series include visual monitor in process, single wafer lot source, high temperature storage life, X-ray inspection, reflow (2X), temperature cycle test, 3 sigma & dynamic test, customized Vbr/lr, additional sorting, HTRB, H3TRB, good traceability, and labeling. Only –HR Series devices undergo Group B testing.
