New Delhi, India, April 09, 2015: LAVA International Limited, one of the leading companies in the mobile handset industry, today announced the launch of its latest offering ‘Icon’. The new device redefines user experience with a magnificent camera and customized Star OS.
Sporting a premium metallic look, the Icon is 7.7 mm thick which makes it extremely comfortable to operate. While the classic design makes it durable and less prone to damage, the glass finish on the back panel adds to its aesthetics.
Icon sports a 5-megapixel front camera with Omni Vision sensor, F2.4 aperture, 4P lens, BSI-II sensor with blue glass filter. Blue glass filter protects the sensitive image sensor against overexposure in the infrared wavelength range and delivers flawless pictures. The camera comes with face beauty mode which automatically adjusts the picture to create a visually more pleasing photo by making the faces in the picture look young & fresh. In addition to the face beauty mode, Icon comes with a range of other features such as Face Detection, HDR, Panorama Mode, Smile Shot & Multi view found in professional DSLRs.
On the rear, Icon features a 13-megapixel camera with dual-LED flash, SONY EXMOR sensor with 5P lens and a blue glass filter. With the F2.0 aperture in rear camera lens and F2.4 aperture in front camera lens, Icon’s camera is capable to capture 27% more light under low light conditions. The camera lets you record and view full HD videos on the expansive 5” HD screen. IPS display with full lamination further improves the viewing angles. The 5” HD screen has 550 Cd/m2 brightness, one of the highest in the category. Additionally, the Asahi Dragon-trail Glass offers resistance against scratches.
Icon is powered by 1.3 GHz Quad Core ARM Mali 400 MP2 processor and 2GB RAM running on Android KitKat 4.4 guaranteeing a seamless performance, smooth graphics and responsive web browsing.
With Lava’s Star OS built on Android platform, users can add a variety of customizable gesture controls like the drawing shortcuts function. The user may draw certain letters on the display in sleep mode and link these to launch various tasks within the device.
On the connectivity front, the Icon offers 3G, Wi-Fi, Micro-USB, and Bluetooth. The device packs a 2500mAh Li-Pol battery which allows up to 20 hours of talk time on 2G and up to 9 hours of talk time on 3G.
