Innovative new products expand ITT Cannon’s soldier-worn portfolio and complement its robust offering of connector solutions for military and defense applications
IRVINE Calif., October 3, 2017– ITT Inc.’s (NYSE:ITT) Cannon brand will introduce three new connector solutions for the defense industry during the 2017 Association of the U.S. Army (AUSA) Annual Meeting & Exposition October 9-11 at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center, Halls ABC/Booth #2942, in Washington, DC.
During this three-day event, one of the largest land warfare expositions in the world, ITT Cannon will showcase its innovative and highly engineered solutions, which are designed to perform under the extreme shock, exposure, vibration and harsh conditions of military environments.
“On land, in the air, at sea and in space, ITT Cannon interconnects support our modern military,” said Tom Cruz, vice president and general manager of ITT’s A&D connectors business. “Our ruggedized connectors have been taking on extreme conditions in the harshest combat environments for more than 75 years. Small, lightweight and highly reliable, our connectors offer consistently high performance in mission-critical situations.”
Among its many solutions for military and defense, ITT Cannon will introduce the following products at AUSA 2017:
Nemesis II CBA (20+ Meters) for Soldier-Worn Applications – The next generation of ITT Cannon’s Nemesis miniature circular connector product line, the Nemesis II CBA is designed to help soldiers and military personnel reduce physical loads, maintain communication and receive mission-critical information. Nemesis II CBA blends high speed, high mating and quick termination to perform reliably in extreme conditions, making it ideally suited for battlefield communication devices and applications such as manpack and hand-held radios. It delivers reliable power, signal and data in a smaller, more robust and integrated design package.
Rock-in-Lock™ (RIL) Latching Connector for Soldier-Worn Applications – RIL is a push-and-plug, single-handed connector that provides reliable signal integrity. Its quick-latching mechanism enables plug and unplug functionality without any special tools. The RIL is designed as a small receptacle connector about the size of a flash drive that can be worn on a soldier or first responder’s helmet, or attached to field-use computer tablets. It is low profile, lightweight and capable of transferring a significant amount of power or data needed for everything from augmented reality goggles to tactical combat radios.
NetSplice™ Kit for Military Aviation Applications – Today’s data-intensive mission requirements are creating a need for more advanced, higher speed data transfer rates, especially in military aircraft applications. ITT Cannon’s new NetSplice Kit offers a suite of proven, easy-to-install splices for repairing cables on military aircraft systems. The NetSplice Kit is lightweight and cost-effective, using standard wiring tools to splice together damaged cables used in data transfer and RF applications. It is designed to allow field repair of two, four and eight conductor twisted pair cables up to 10 Gb CAT 7, as well as popular coax cables in various Military and RG cable sizes. When installed, NetSplice is very compact, measuring only 3.5” long and 0.5” diameter for all applications (except 10 Gb Ethernet, which is 4” long and 0.8” diameter).
