Developers employing adaptive charging technology can achieve dramatically faster charge times and improve charging efficiency using the new InnoSwitch™-CP off-line CV/CC flyback switcher ICs from Power Integrations. The new ICs are backward compatible with the 5V USB BC 1.2 specification, minimize overall thermal management and battery charging system cost.
The new devices incorporate a constant power output profile which, when paired with an adaptive-voltage protocol such as Qualcomm® Quick Charge™ 3.0 or USB-PD, permit smart mobile device makers to optimize charging time across a range of products. By providing a constant power output, InnoSwitch-CP allows battery-operated devices to draw up to the maximum power of the charger at any selected output voltage, optimizing charge time and cost. This allows OEMs to reduce charge times and increase device availability, while simplifying the accessory supply chain.
Devices are based on Power Integrations’ FluxLink™ technology which enables high efficiency and low BOM count. Devices incorporate a comprehensive suite of advanced protection features.
