Participation from 1,500+ Exhibitors and 700+ International Delegates from 80+ countries
New Delhi, March 19, 2025: The United States has invited India to invest in the ICT sector, particularly in the segments connected with innovation and cybersecurity. This invitation was extended by Mr. Diego Morales, Secretary of State, State of Indiana, at the inauguration of the twin events, 25th edition of INDIASOFT and the 10th Edition of the India Electronics Expo, held today in New Delhi.
Addressing the event, Mr. Morales said, “The State of Indiana can be a springboard for Indian ICT companies to penetrate the highly competitive and vast ICT market of the US, allowing them to run their operations successfully. The main focus is on innovation and cybersecurity, to strengthen our bilateral cooperation. Indiana offers an ideal environment for these investments, serving as a gateway to the vast US market. US companies also seek electronics parts and software solutions, readily available from established Indian companies in the United States.”
Organized by the Electronics and Computer Software Export Promotion Council (ESC), these combined events brought together over 1,500+ exhibitors and 700+ international delegates from Africa, the Middle East, SAARC countries, and saw the launch of startups and 100+ cutting-edge products across IT and electronics. INDIASOFT 2025 also featured 600 buyers from over 80 countries, including the US, UK, France, South Korea, Japan, and Brazil. The three-day event aims to show the best of India’s innovation and set benchmarks in the IT and electronics industry.
Veer Sagar, Chairman of ESC, emphasized INDIASOFT’s critical role in driving technological progress. He shared, “INDIASOFT signifies the IT, ICT and electronics sector’s expansion in India, providing a platform for innovations in these segments. This edition, featuring over 1500 companies participating in software, hardware, and related events, is expected to lead to a significant increase in business exchanges and technology transfer collaborations.” He further stated, “The future of technology is unfolding in real time. It is flowing down to the grassroots level, ensuring broader access and benefits for all. Recognizing the global nature of these advancements, countries and international institutions are increasingly collaborating to address the challenges and opportunities presented by technology.”
Sandeep Narula, Chairman Global Outreach, shared, “I envision AI and automation becoming indispensable across every sector, from transportation and surgical precision to even enabling creative endeavors like automated book writing. India’s current IT landscape extends far beyond being a mere market; it’s a hub of transformative technological experiences. Take UPI, this seamless payment system is surpassing the speed of global competitors, epitomizes our innovative spirit. To harness India’s true power, technology will transform in the coming years with AI-focused systems, providing significant opportunities for foreign countries to invest in India.
Arvind Kumar, Director General STPI, said, “To foster India’s IT growth, we must implement comprehensive schemes, policies, and government-backed centers to promote startups in Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities. The focus is on startups, with over 158,000 startups in India, of which 78000 are tech startups. As evidenced by the fact that 50% of startups are emerging from these regions, this is crucial for promoting inclusive growth.”
To support the startup ethos in India, Mr. Sushil Sharma of Marwari Catalyst has set up a startup segment in INDIASOFT and presented cheques worth Rs. 3.75 crore to carefully selected startups. Also, more than 50 startups are being recognized and mentored at the twin events.
Mr. Vinod Sharma, Past Chairman and Chairman of the Electronic Expo, highlighted the momentous growth of India’s IT and electronics sector by saying, “From a modest beginning, India’s smartphone exports have surged to a remarkable US $21 billion. This acts as a trendsetter, paving the way for other electronic hardware goods to follow suit.”
The event also saw the unveiling of the ESC Statistical Yearbook—a vital resource for India’s ICT exporting community, offering crucial insights into market trends and export performance to empower data-driven decisions. This comprehensive publication serves as a strategic tool for businesses seeking to navigate the dynamic global ICT landscape. In the three-day event, attendees witnessed innovations in AI and Deep Tech, explored a startup zone showcasing budding entrepreneurs, and experienced the evolution of the electronics, IT, and IT services sectors.
Concluding the inauguration of INDIASOFT, Mr. Gurmeet Singh expressed special thanks to the Government of India and the Ministry of Commerce and Industry for supporting INDIASOFT, a global platform for technology and innovation. He stated, “I hope INDIASOFT and the India Electronics Expo will yield fruitful outcomes as they move forward. To truly harness the power of technology, we must invest in global collaboration within the world of technology and innovation, recognizing that together, much can be achieved.”
