Bangalore, Karnataka, India:

IEEE, the world’s largest professional organization dedicated to advancing technology for humanity, announced today that it is working with ARM, the world’s leading semiconductor intellectual property (IP) company, to develop Embedded Systems courses for the IEEE Blended Learning Program. The program will deliver on-line and practical training in the latest ARM® technologies now proving the foundation of the embedded computing markets internationally.

The program will be launched in India where almost a million engineering students graduate every year. It will later be rolled out to Europe and North America.

“The use of ARM based embedded systems is growing rapidly across multiple sectors including industrial automation and automotive and this is creating a pressing need for engineers to develop their knowledge of ARM technologies,” said Mr. David Goldstein, Lead Director at IEEE. “We’re excited to create courseware in partnership with ARM for the IEEE Blended Learning Program in Embedded Systems as it builds on our successful applied blended learning program in VLSI. IEEE’s Blended Learning Program will help students, faculties, and corporations develop new skills for the Electronic System Design and Manufacturing (ESDM) industry around the globe.”

“IEEE is one of the world’s most influential technical bodies and together we have the opportunity to help equip thousands of engineers with the latest embedded computing skills,” said Khaled Benkrid, Director of Education and Research at ARM. “This initiative will give tomorrow’s engineers the tools to excel in their career and help drive the creation and delivery of new intelligent products everywhere. By starting in India, the initiative is tapping into one of the most vibrant new markets for engineering talent.”

IEEE’s Blended Learning Program employs a highly interactive, performance-based e-learning approach that reinforces core concepts through various stages of self-driven learning, practice sessions, and assessments. This engaging online learning is coupled with highly effective, hands-on applied training through extensive project work.
