Sanchar Bhawan, New Delhi, February 11th, 2015: I-MADE program, an initiative by EVC & TCOE (Telecom Centers of Excellence) was inaugurated today by Mr. J. S. Deepak,Secretary, DoT, Government of India and Mr. N Sivasailam, Additional Secretary, Telecom, DoT, Government of India.
Innovation in Mobile App Development Ecosystem (I-MADE) framework is a 5-year program, under which 11 institutions were selected to be part of Phase I. One hundred (100) institutes will be selected to be a part in Phase II of the program and Phase III will include up to 35,000 institutions. The goal of the program is to help Indian entrepreneurs build 1 million mobile app start-ups which can eventually become Indian unicorns.

The program includes following major components:
Start-up Hubs: Setting up of start-up hubs in major cities across the country
Entrepreneurship Development: Mentoring entrepreneurs in areas including writing an app, making business presentations to investors and developing viable business models.
Appathons: Appathons to be organized across country leading to mega AppFest annually and opportunity to visit Google & Microsoft HQs.
Industry Connect: Interaction of entrepreneurs with industry professionals to enable real time industry exposure and better problem solving capabilities.
Investor Connect: Opportunity for entrepreneurs to interact with investors to accelerate development of Indian start-up ecosystem through direct mentorship and raising of capital.
Kryptos Mobile, a Bangalore-based company has been selected as the official mobile app platform for the I-MADE program. Kryptos Mobile will provide its cross-platform mobile application development platform to more than 35,000 Indian institutions and over 20 million college students.
The launch also saw participation from dignitaries from DoT, DeitY, Vodafone, SAP,venture capitalists and academia.
Two (2) case studies by student entrepreneurs from Delhi Technological University& Amity University were presented at the event showcasing the difficulties student community faces to build their startups and how I-MADE facilitated the process.
