Solutions underline HUBER+SUHNER’s expertise as a physical layer expert for network architecture evolution
Herisau, 5 September 2017 – HUBER+SUHNER, leading manufacturer of components and systems for electrical and optical connectivity, will unveil its solutions for Centralized RAN (C-RAN) at this year’s Mobile World Congress Americas in San Francisco.
HUBER+SUHNER’s booth (#1156) at the event will focus on the forthcoming network topology changes necessary to prepare for the continuously raising capacity increase and complexity in the future 5G network.
Using centralized baseband units (BBUs) in a C-RAN architecture, multiple remote radio heads can be connected from one place, reducing the need for decentralized infrastructure and therefore operational cost.
“As network landscapes change and mobile operators prepare for 5G, we are unique in the fact that we cover all aspects of the network,” said Barry Sampson, Global Market Manager at HUBER+SUHNER. “This includes all aspects of an efficient and scalable fiber management in the central office, addressing fiber exhaust issues in the access network and reliable connectivity at the cell site. On top of that, the solution adds the ability for future remote reconfiguration to the optical layer of the network, so HUBER+SUHNER can support its customers at each stage of the network evolution.”
On show at the booth will also be the NEX10™, marking its debut to the American market. The new low PIM RF coaxial connector system for small cells has been jointly developed by HUBER+SUHNER and two other suppliers and is optimum for outdoor use under extreme weather conditions with excellent return loss and PIM stability.
Besides its well known macro and small cell cabling portfolio, HUBER+SUHNER will also be showcasing its optical switching solutions for remote patching, protection switching and remote measurement of the optical network, as well as its CUBO converter which solves fiber exhaust challenges in the front or back haul network in a simple, robust and compact way.
“C-RAN is a major topic within Tier 1 networks in North America, so it made complete sense for us to debut our network densification solution portfolio at Mobile World Congress Americas. We look forward to have interesting discussions with our customers on how to help pave the way to 5G,” added Fabian Huber, Global Market Manager at HUBER+SUHNER.
Mobile World Congress Americas visitors can view HUBER+SUHNER’s C-RAN solution portfolio at Booth 1156 at the Moscone Center, San Francisco, California from 12-14 September 2017.
