FICCI-FLO Bangalore helps predict the Future Trends in Education
Shri R V Deshpande, Honorable Minister for Education lays out the future for education. New education policy to be released soon.
Education needs to adapt to the changing needs of the nation. A more skilled workforce. And teachers need to teach what Google cannot.
These were some of the points brought out in a groundbreaking seminar held by FICCI FLO Bangalore to discuss and address the changing needs in India for education.
The seminar was led by Shri RV Deshpande, Honorable Minister for Education in Karnataka. He stressed the need for a skill based approach. He stressed the need for greater innovation, and the encouragement of imagination.
“We are going closer to the industry and creating a better curriculum.”Said Shri R V Deshpande. He also emphasized the need to improve the health and education in schools. A new educational policy would be released soon which would lay greater emphasis on physical education offering Yoga as an optional subject in all schools. Tele-education would also be introduced to bring the best of teachers to the students.
The speakers emphasized that the role of teachers today is changing from simply distributing knowledge, to heeding the comprehensive feedback and high-quality assessment of the students.
A number of trends like “Anywhere, Anytime” education were discussed. Also the need of the hour of qualified teachers who could better contribute to the education of the students.
The panel also consisted of Dr. Sandeep Sancheti, President – Manipal University Jaipur; Lt. Gen Arjun Ray (Retd.), CEO, Indus International School and Parth Sarwate, Founder and Director, Urban Think, Head- Education, QUEST Alliance.
“It is particularly important to debate the future of education. As a women industry body, it is of even more critical importance. It is usually the woman who guides the child in the formative years.
