Inductotherm (India) was established in the year 1982. cIn June 2007, Inductotherm ordered a full line of ESSEMTEC SMT production equipments for their facility in Ahmedabad.
Inductotherm is the most recognized brand name in most foundries for the production of Ferrous & Non ferrous metals. The Indian subsidiary is exporting around 30% of their total production & enjoying around 40-45% market share in India, a clear indication of the strength of the Indian metal industry.
“Our company policy is to produce the key parts of our products in-house, to be more flexible and to maintain our high standard of quality, ” Naishadh Parekh, Engineering Manager explained, “That was the reason, why we were looking for a complete line of SMT production equipment. ” Another reason also was that until this time, all pcb cards were produced by suppliers resulting in problems regarding delivery and quality.
In the first step, Inductotherm tried to build up know how for the SMT production. By visiting websites and trade shows, it gave them the confidence to handle the process themselves. “We knew pretty soon: Flexibility is the key requirement! Of course, speed might be important too, but we had a huge variety of boards and therefore we needed a turnkey line, which would handle all board sizes with high mix components. Especially the pick and place machine must be able to change quickly between the different boards, with a minimum of down time and a large feeder capacity, ” Naishadh Parekh explained their requirements.
“There was only one company, who was able to provide all necessary features out of one hand. It was very important for us to reduce the costs of ownership. We were looking for just one supplier, to receive a fast and reliable technical support and training. Essemtec offered us a perfect package, “Nilesh Deliwala, Assistant Manager, electronic division, remembered. Beside the high flexible pick and place machine FLX2010LCV, Inductotherm ordered the automatic printer SP200 AV and the large reflow oven RO 400FC.
“We are highly successful with this turnkey line. We are producing now all types of pcb ‘s for the complete Inductotherm Group, even for our branches in North America. Our colleagues are highly satisfied with the quality. And we are still not running on full capacity “, said Naishadh Parekh. The through-hole technology is still used but in the future the surface mount technology will take over. One reason for this is the high flexibility of ESSEMTEC SMT-line. “The after sales service and the technical training were extraordinary and Essemtec gave us with the complete process know how to manage each step, ” said Nilesh Deliwala, sharing his experiences. “We are able to provide the same technical services and trainings like in Switzerland, ” Jay Kumar, Managing Director of Essemtec in India explains the strategy, ” and the customers can see that.
We see them as partners and we are highly motivated to support them with any know how. That is the reason why we are working directly in India. Inductotherm is a perfect example of the partnership idea. “
