Yokneam, Israel, June 19, 2014 – EZchip Semiconductor Ltd., a leader in high-performance network processors, announced that it has been named a winner in the Light Reading 2014 Leading Lights awards program in the Outstanding Components Vendor category. The Leading Lights program, the telecom industry’s most prestigious awards program, focuses on next-generation communications technologies, applications, services, and strategies. It rewards the companies that have performed well during the past year. The Leading Lights winners were announced at an awards dinner in Chicago on Tuesday, June 17, to coincide with the Big Telecom Event (http://www.bigtelecomevent.com/chicago/).
“EZchip is honored to receive the Leading Lights award for Outstanding Component Vendor, in particular as this is the first year that an award was given in this category,” said Amir Eyal, VP Business Development at EZchip. “EZchip is expanding its network processor offerings with the NPS family that broadens EZchip’s target market beyond the carrier router vendors, to also include data center equipment vendors and cloud services players. The NPS-400 device offers these vendors 400 Gbit/s performance, C-programmability, Linux operating system, full 7-layer packet processing and numerous hardware accelerators for traffic management, security and DPI, to realize ultra high-performance and high feature velocity and meet the ever increasing challenges of the network.”
“The standard of the entries in all 16 Leading Lights categories this year was exceptionally high, so the winners have really had to prove themselves worthy with great submissions that have been able to stand up to thorough scrutiny. A Leading Lights award is a true mark of excellence,” said Light Reading Editor-in-Chief Ray Le Maistre.
Judging was conducted by Light Reading’s editors and the analyst team from Heavy Reading (http://www.heavyreading.com).
