Essemtec, the Swiss manufacturer of production systems for electronic assembly and packaging, will exhibit in Booth #1211 at the IPC APEX EXPO, scheduled to take place Feb. 24-26, 2015 at the San Diego Convention Center in California. Company representatives will demonstrate the multi-functional SMT center Paraquda, Cubus SMT storage device and the new Lynx highly flexible and accurate pick-and-place system.

The multi-functional SMT center Paraquda meets all the requirements of a modern, highly flexible production system – changeover without downtime, component management, and the integration of jet printing of solder paste or glue. Paraquda combines two different production steps within one machine platform (solder paste jetting and SMD assembly). With this unique combination, the multifunctional center allows an unprecedented flexibility in the market.

The Cubus – the next-generation SMT storage device – innovates how SMT components are stored and provisioned for electronic manufacturing. For the first time, a storage device is fully user configurable and thus adapts to the ever-changing manufacturing needs. There are no limitations in terms of reel sizes, reel widths or JEDEC trays. Secondly, Essemtec’s eStorage software improves provisioning speed many fold while reducing errors and thus increases operational efficiency. Finally, the system seamlessly integrates with ERP, MRP or middle ware systems and also speaks with pick-and-place machines to automatically replenish feeders. Configure – Operate – Integrate!

The Lynx bridges the gap between the Pantera X-plus and Paraquda SMT placers. It is ideally suited for high-mix SMT production. With 180 feeder lanes on 0.85 sqm it offers the highest feeder density on the market. The system’s very high component flexibility is combined with unique capabilities to accurately place 0201 components backed by the latest-generation digital camera, fast laser centering and image processing systems. With the addition of the user-friendly Essemtec software package, the well-proven machine reliability and its low maintenance requirement, Lynx ensures steady and reliable flexible production, confirming its motto of Optimize – Operate – Rely.
