Bangalore, July 10, 2014 — Dell, a leading end-to-end technology solutions provider, today announced its comprehensive strategy to enable faster and smoother customer migration to the software defined enterprise. Taking its Software Defined Storage vision forward, Dell has entered a global agreement with Nutanix, a leading provider of next-generation datacenter infrastructure solutions, to develop a series of converged infrastructure appliances. The new Dell XC Series of Web-scale Converged Appliances will be built on Dell PowerEdge servers and powered by Nutanix software.
Dell will build its portfolio of products that combine compute, storage and networking into a single offering, to benefit customers seeking an integrated IT approach, offering simple deployment, management and scale as needed. While Dell’s recently launched Storage SC4000 Series will be available worldwide during the third quarter of 2014, the Dell XC Series of Web-scale Converged Appliances worldwide availability is planned for the fourth quarter of 2014.
