Cambridge, UK 15th July, 2014 – UK Based DC power-systems manufacturer Controllis today announces the launch of a new a range of cost competitive DC generators for the global telecommunications market designed to align the costs of installing DC power solutions with the costs of legacy AC systems. Controllis’ new LC48 generators retain the advanced monitoring and management features of their standard products and are packaged to suit the capital budgets of any operator looking to reduce total infrastructure life-cycle costs. “We have gathered significant market feedback which we have incorporated into our new products” said Controllis CEO Simon Albury. “Our standard DC generators have demonstrated their opex benefits including significant fuel savings: now, with the LC48 we have a high quality, remotely monitored DC generator that is on a capex par with AC Generator pricing.”
The LC48 comes in 5kW to 12kW continuous power ratings and is available with either open frame or a composite and galvanised steel canopy. The product can be imported fully assembled from the UK, or can be shipped in a flat-packed kit-assembly. “The flat-pack kit allows for in-country assembly which reduces shipping, labour and import duty costs.” said Mr Albury. “The savings will be significant as import duties can vary between 5% and over 25% in some countries.”
Controllis has been exporting and selling its DC generators and control systems since 2011 to resellers and OEM partners in Africa, Asia, Russia and South America. All Controllis power generation solutions utilise Controllis’ proprietary advanced control and remote management systems to provide detailed monitoring of critical parameters in order to reduce unplanned outages and site visits which are significant costs for operators and cell-site managers. Controllis’ systems offer hybrid battery and solar charging support as well as continuous running and load sharing.
