The BeatBringer has a volume output of above one hundred and ten ear-wrecking decibels.
COMING TO KICKSTARTER
JULY 14th 2016
The BeatBringer is a unique combination of design, extreme audio performance and portability. It consists of a cool lightweight hardshell backpack loaded with high end audio components. It is designed without compromise by a team of young engineers Mikkel, Claus and Jakob.
Pprototypes have been tested in the streets of Copenhagen, London, Barcelona, Berlin, Hamburg etc. By runners, skaters and at street parties etc.
The BeatBringer features 2 x 6″ neodynium woofers, which offers high power handling and sensitivity combined with very low weight. The woofers are high end units produced with lightweight frame and composite membrane (which makes the speakers water resistant). We have tested numerous of customized speakers and optimized their characteristics in order to get the most out of the BeatBringer. The test includes frequency response measurements, power measurements, user tests/feedback and more.
The cabinet is optimized using bass reflex ports to provide a strong low end frequency response. The high frequencies are handled by 2 x neodymium 25 mm dome tweeters, optimized for outdoor use. The power amplifier consist of a 2 x 75W + 2 x 25W continuous output class D amplifier. Combined with the high speaker sensitivity the BeatBringer can consistently output astonishing sound pressure levels above 110 dB (average SPL).
Our in house developed pcb is the core of the electronic in the BeatBringer. It includes the class D amplifier 4 channel amplifier, signal processing, power management, battery management and much more.
The BeatBringer is powered by a 22.2V 4400mAh Lithium Ion battery. We use only quality Samsung brand cells assembled with battery protection system. This ensures your safety and performance.
The BeatBringer can operate at normal/high volume (98 dB) for 15 hours. If you need more than this, consider a spare battery. The battery can be easily changed, and is kept safe in a separate compartment below an aluminum plate (located behind the padding).
The connectors are professional grade XLR connectors with locks. This provides stable connections that will never fail due to vibration or dirt.
Wireless streaming with Bluetooth aptX
The BeatBringer supports Bluetooth aptX streaming with 4:1 compression (Enhanced aptX). This ensures the simplicity of Bluetooth and perfect sound quality. If you do not wish to stream music via Bluetooth aptX, the BeatBringer also supports standard 3.5mm jack input (standard on phones, ipods etc.)
The wireless Bluetooth connection can be quickly connected using NFC smart paring (this requires a NFC enabled phone).
If you should be so lucky to have more than one BeatBringer, it is possible to play your music to a large number of BeatBringer’s. Connect to the master via your normal Bluetooth connection and chain the rest of the BeatBringer’s using cables from Line Out to Aux.
Mechanical construction
From earlier prototypes we knew that it would be a difficult task to make a lightweight design, which would perform extraordinary good. Many light speakers suffer from natural frequencies and forced vibration issues which will annoy the critical listener.
As a result the BeatBringer case was carefully designed using numerous iterations of finite elements based vibration analysis. In this process, the areas prone to vibrate was examined and minimized, thereby creating a lightweight construction without compromising the audio quality.
The hard shell is manufactured from thermoformed impact resistant ABS polymer combined with anodized aluminum hardware and stainless steel fasteners. The material is extremely tough and is in its final shape very durable.
The retail price will be 670 USD, but at Kickstarter it will be possible to get it for 549 USD (for the ultra early bird backers).
