Offers full service from fast prototyping through PCBA and box build including specialist test to end-of-life and obsolescence support
Newcastle Under Lyme, UK – August 2016: AWS Electronics Group, one of Europe’s leading specialist electronics manufacturing services providers, has announced that it will exhibit at Electronica 2016, the world’s leading trade fair for the electronics industry, in Munich, 8-11 November 2016.
AWS has experienced continuous significant growth in recent years: this year the company will finish with a revenue growth of between 15-20% year on year. There are several factors which are driving this expansion. A few years ago, the company consolidated its UK facilities into one operation in Newcastle-under-Lyme, where it has invested in automation, real time scanning control systems and a dedicated fast track manufacturing area. At the same time the company invested and exspanded a mirror image plant in Námestovo, Slovakia specifically to support customers in Central Europe, and to be able to offer customers anywhere the benefits of low manufacturing and labour costs.
Secondly the company continuously invests in its facilities and equipment. In the UK a specialist high voltage area was added earlier this year, and in Slovakia, the floor space was doubled in the summer to accommodate a second dedicated automotive production line. The equipment in both facilities is the same, now encompassing nine surface mount lines and 23 pick and place machines., plus AOI , X-Ray and other specific test equipment. A company-wide real time operational control system implements Industry 4.0 practices to deliver exemplary customer support.
Additionally, the workforce both in the UK and in Slovakia is well-educated, highly motivated and flexible. The company actively promotes apprenticeship programs and encourages employee development. To support its activities in central Europe, AWS has employed key support personnel in the region.
