Sollentuna, Sweden – Optilia Instruments will provide M20x Full HD Free Sight digital video inspection systems for IPC-sponsored hand soldering competitions this month (April) at electronics industry trade events in Sweden and in Germany. The M20 HD systems will be set up for the competitors to use at their workstations at both events. The IPC Hand Soldering Competition contest recognizes the best skills in hand soldering complex printed circuit board assemblies.

The first Optilia participation will be at the S.E.E. – Scandinavian Electronics Event, Stockholm Kistamässan, April 19-21. Arranged by the Swedish Electronics Trade Association and Stockholmsmässan, S.E.E. is the arena for innovative electronic solutions, inspiring meetings and business at Kistamässan. Martin Westerberg from Optilia Instruments will be present to answer any questions about the systems.

Optilia-M20x-HD,-Full-HD-1080pThe next participation will be at the SMT Hybrid Packaging show in Nuremberg, Germany, April 26 – 28, in Hall 7, Booth 500. Hand soldering of high density printed boards demands highly skilled operators to ensure a zero-defect soldering process. Over three days, participants will compete against each other to build a functional electronics assembly within a 60-minute time limit. Assemblies will be judged on soldering in accordance with IPC-A-610F Class 3 criteria, the speed at which the assembly was produced and overall electrical functionality of the assembly. More information can be found at http://www.ipc.org/ContentPage.aspx?Pageid=IPC-Hand-Soldering-Competition-to-Heat-Up-SMT-Hybrid-Packaging-2016.

Optilia Instruments’ M20x Full HD Free Sight Inspection System offers a 500mm Field of Vision (FoV), enabling inspection of large objects. Its 500 mm working distance and Full HD 60 fps digital inspection provides sharp live imaging at high magnification with a better ergonomic working position than familiar optical systems can provide. The M20x systems produce bright pictures for fast and reliable optical inspection. An extensive range of lenses, illuminations, software, mounting and stand configurations allows for versatile installation in all working situations.

Martin Westerberg from Optilia Instruments will  be present at both venues to answer any questions that observers or participants may have about the systems.
