Las Vegas is known for its bright lights and variety of displays, which cover virtually every inch of the city’s skyline. Studies show that half of all the customers who enter an establishment did so because of its signage. Vegas, which holds roughly 17,700 pedestrians each hour, could soon update some of its older signs.
Caesars Palace will now experiment with some innovative display systems, utilizing 3-D digital signage to entice passersby.
According to Digital Signage Today, Caesars Palace, a 664,000-square-foot shopping mall, is partnering with Moment Factors, Mood Media, and Acquire Digital Bose Professional to deploy 3-D digital signage to create an “ancient Roman” experience. The high-tech signs will also be equipped with an updated audio system.
“Our challenge was to design content that would stand out on one of the busiest streets in the world, so we added digital visuals to the classical architecture by crafting a modern twist on The Forum Shops’ own Ancient Roman aesthetics. Our team built 22 animated capsules using 3-D architectural illusions to capture tourists’ attention from all angles where the marquee can be seen,” said Christian L’Heureux, Moment Factory Producer.
According to Venture Beat, 3-D printing is becoming the new norm for businesses of all kinds. Cappasity 3-D imaging market research found that 95% of survey respondents prefer an interactive 3-D representation over conventional video playback.
“We managed to increase conversion rate by almost 40 percent for products in categories which have been 3-D digitized by Cappasity and have been clicked and viewed by visitors,” added Andreas Schmeidler, chairman of TSUM. “3-D is the technology that allows us to be innovative and differentiate from our competitors and we are seeing stronger customer engagement.”
The goal of the Caesars Planate 3-D signage product was to utilize a bright Pylon display, along with the loud audio and bass frequently, to allow customers to actually feel the display and become immersed in an Ancient Rome-like environment.
