May 15, 2014 – Mouser Electronics, Inc. is shipping the new Analog Devices AD9680 Evaluation boards, the AD9680-1000EBZ. The AD9680
is a dual 14‑bit Analog to Digital Converter (ADC) with a fast 1.0 giga‑samples-per-second (GSPS) sampling rate and the best noise and dynamic ranger performance in its class. These new evaluation boards from Analog Devices allow developers to quickly evaluate the features and performance of the new AD9680 ADC.
The new Analog Devices AD9680-1000EBZ Evaluation Board available from Mouser Electronics allows developers to quickly connect to the AD9680 ADC. A low jitter, low broadband noise signal is fed to the analog signal input of the AD9680-1000EBZ. The digital output of the AD9680 ADC is connected to an Analog Devices ADS7-V1EBZ Data Capture Board, also available from Mouser Electronics.
The AD9680 is configured by an industry standard SPI interface. The SPI interface is available on the evaluation board and allows programming many customizable options including power down modes, input buffer termination impedance, selecting the internal or external voltage references, enabling the internal temperature sensor, and configuring the JESD204B interface. SPI programming in an evaluation environment is accomplished using the Analog Devices SPI Control Software. Both boards are configured using Analog Devices’ free VisualAnalog software. Once connected, the data capture board automatically recognizes the AD9680 board and begins to program the data capture board with the appropriate code to evaluate the AD9680.
The AD9680 boasts a 1.0 GSPS high sampling rate and can sample high bandwidth signals of up to 2GHz with excellent linearity. Power consumption is 1.65 Watts per channel. The AD9680 requires either a 1.2V, 2.5V, or 3.3V supply voltage.
