Amit Sethi, Technical Marketing Manager, MDG Group- India highlighted RFID/NFC portfolio:
Motor control through RFID/NFC
ST25DV02K-W2 device supplies control signals to an STSPIN220 stepper motor controller. Hence the demo provides the capability to adjust motor parameters (speed and direction) through RFID/NFC channel, based on dedicated APK inside the mobile phone.
Parameters update is entirely managed by NFC. Parameters are stored inside the ST25DV02KW2 EEPROM. Thus changes can be done online, or offline according to the end-user use case.
The 2x PWM outputs of ST25DV02K-W2 device are used as follow:
– PWM1 is used as a clock signal to control motor speed. Its duty cycle is fixed to 50%, and its frequency is adjusted in order to fix the target speed.
– PWM2 is used as a standard output signal, at either “0” or “1” state, in order to control the motor rotation direction.
