coating[1]Visitors to this year’s IPC APEX EXPO will have a great opportunity to learn about implementing a new generation of two part conformal coatings into production, thanks to a presentation hosted during the event by PVA’s Director of Application Engineering, Jon Urquhart. The presentation is entitled ‘Implementing 2 Component Conformal Coatings into High Volume Production and Their Benefits’ (S31: Conformal Coatings II / Circuit Protection) and will take place on Thursday 1st March at 10.30am. It will be a very interesting insight to visitors looking for more information about the selective coating process of two-part, high performance conformal coatings for harsh environments and discover more about their numerous advantages over single component coatings.

The new 2K range of two part conformal coatings systems, developed by Electrolube, will be featured during the event. 2K has been a tremendous breakthrough, combining the tough, resistant properties of a resin with the easy application of a coating. Up until now, most of Electrolube’s 2K range has consisted of polyurethane coatings, however, due to increasing demand, Electrolube has developed a new range of silicone 2K conformal coatings, which will be launched during APEX on booth 3532.

Electrolube collaborated closely with PVA to ensure that the thicker 2K formulations are fully optimised for application using commercially available dispensers. PVA’s new two-component spray valve, VPX-2KS, has proved to be a highly successful modification for users of selective coating systems, adapting easily into their existing equipment, to ensure excellent control of material flow, improved edge definition and easier regulation of dispensing starts and stops. Representatives from Electrolube’s operation in Texas, HK Wentworth America, Inc, and Electrolube’s senior technical team, will be available during the event to discuss coating solutions with visitors on booth 3532. For further information on selective coating systems, 2K spray valve modifications or to discuss 2K dispensing in more detail, PVA will be on booth 1719. Visitors can register their interest in attending the 2 part conformal coatings presentation on the IPC APEX website.
