Comprehensive product portfolio of DC and AC solutions are connecting and enabling advances in e-mobility
IRVINE, Calif., October 5, 2017 – ITT Inc.’s (NYSE:ITT) Cannon brand will showcase new advances in DC charging technology enabling the future of e-mobility at EVS 30, the Electric Vehicle Symposium and Exhibition Oct. 9-11 in Stuttgart, Germany. ITT Cannon has been a proven and trusted innovator in electric vehicle charging solutions for nearly a decade. Expanding on ITT Cannon’s already comprehensive EV charging portfolio is the groundbreaking liquid cooled DC High Power Charging (HPC) solution. This innovative intellectual property protected solution is comprised of a connector, cable and cooling unit. The ITT Cannon HPC solution enables charging up to 500A at 1,000V potentially delivering a 60-mile charge in as little as three to five minutes.
ITT Cannon will also highlight its broad portfolio of global AC charging solutions (IEC, SAE and GB/T) which have an industry leading amperage range of 10A to 80A. In addition, customized outlets and connectors will be on display demonstrating the company’s extensive custom design and engineering capabilities.
“Lengthy charge times remain a primary barrier to faster adaptation of electric vehicles,” said Gary Ashurst, vice president and general manager of ITT’s Connect and Control Technologies Transportation and Industrial Connectors business. “At ITT Cannon, we continue to connect the future of e-mobility with our new liquid cooled, DC High Power Charging system delivering a 60 mile/100km charge in just minutes.”
ITT Cannon will display the following product solutions at EVS 30:
- Liquid Cooled DC High Power Charging (HPC) Solution – This breakthrough, liquid-cooled connector and cable design, available in CCS1 and CCS2 variants, enables ultra-fast charging up to 500A at 1000V. A dielectric cooling liquid runs from the cable throughout the connector’s contact system resulting in excellent heat dissipation performance. The result is a weight-optimized cable design and minimized cable diameter – delivering a highly flexible, ergonomic and easy-to-use solution for the global e-mobility market.
- Un-Cooled DC Standard Charging Solution – This new solution, available in CCS1 and CCS2 variants, enables charging up to 200A and complements ITT Cannon’s DC High Power Charging solution and AC solutions. This addition to the ITT Cannon EV charging range adds another highly engineered solution to a portfolio that can meet customer requirements, however varied, across the globe.
- Customizable AC Charging Solutions – In accordance with all key global standards – IEC, SAE and GB/T– ITT offers a comprehensive line of AC connectors, plugs, inlets and outlets that are fully customizable. With the widest amperage range in the industry, ITT Cannon can deliver customized handle colors, inlays and logos in addition to customized cables and end terminals.
In addition, ITT Cannon is sharing e-mobility industry expertise with EVS 30 attendees at the symposium. ITT Cannon senior product manager Ralf Glocker is presenting “Using Liquid Cooling to Minimize Temperature Impact in High Power Charging Systems” at the symposium on Oct. 11. Ralf Glocker will present research results and advances in technology related to HPC development.
