Las Vegas, Nevada September 13, 2017: Michael H. Pelkey, CEO of LogiSwitch LLC, today announced production of its new patent-pending product line incorporating a unique approach to the performance of switches for use in high-speed digital electronic circuits. The company has begun production of what they call the digital switch, an ordinary spdt mechanical switch front end with on-board debounce circuitry to provide the circuit designer with a clean, fully debounced output. The company believes that contact bounce should be eliminated at the switch level, rather than leaving it up to each individual circuit designer to deal with. According to Pelkey: “A properly designed device should not require any extra effort to make it work.”
The initial LogiSwitch product launch includes a series of panel-mount pushbutton switches and a beginning line of subminiature limit switches with the new technology. Pelkey says his company will ultimately produce a LogiSwitch technology product for every legacy switch type that the digital design engineer currently struggles to use. Users are encouraged to suggest switch types that they would like to see added to the LogiSwitch line.
Each individual switch product incorporating the patent-pending LogiSwitch concept provides the circuit designer with a clean, fully debounced selection of three different functional outputs:
• Normally High (Low when pressed, High when released),
• Normally Low (High when pressed, Low when released) and
• Toggle (Changes state each time the switch is pressed).
The LogiSwitch concept relieves the digital circuit designer of the thankless job of providing debounce circuitry or writing debounce code for each pushbutton switch or limit switch used in his or her design. The toggle output is a bonus selection that permits maintaining an inventory of one switch for both momentary and toggle operation.
“This is the product I have kept an eye out for throughout the 45 years or so of my career in digital design engineering that never materialized. I felt that it was a definite industry need that should be fulfilled, so I decided to do it myself. The LogiSwitch concept incorporates the fastest possible bounce-free signaling straight out of the switch, with the added convenience of a fully debounced toggle selection for push-on/push-off applications. I expect that every circuit designer on the planet will be relieved to learn that the LogiSwitch concept is finally available.” Pelkey said.
