Bristol, UK and Poing, Germany, March 17th 2017 – Ultrahaptics, the leading provider of mid-air touchless haptic technology, today announced an agreement with EBV Elektronik, an Avnet company (NYSE: AVT) and the leading specialist in Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) semiconductor distribution to distribute and market Ultrahaptics’ TOUCH Development Kit (UHDK5) and related microprocessors under its innovative EBVchips program.
The UHDK5 development platform uses ultrasound to provide touch feedback in mid-air – enabling users to ‘feel’ virtual buttons, switches, dials and other objects in mid-air. This revolutionary technology enables clients across all industries to evolve their user interfaces and create more immersive and differentiated services and user experiences. The applications of this technology are endless. The TOUCH Development Kit (UHDK5), created with the support of the European Commission Horizon 2020 programme, offers designers and developers a complete hardware and software package with an architecture that can be readily embedded in product designs, from prototypes right through to volume production.
